About us
Who Are We?
The David Munowenyu Foundation is a people-centred organisation rooted in community trust, practical compassion, and long-term impact. We operate at the intersection of humanitarian action and healthcare systems strengthening, combining grassroots engagement with professional emergency medical capability.
Our work is grounded in Ubuntu—the belief that humanity is shared, and that systems must serve people, not exclude them. We listen before acting, partner rather than prescribe, and design solutions that endure beyond short-term aid.
The Foundation operates nationally across all ten provinces of Zimbabwe, working with communities, healthcare institutions, faith-based organisations, and strategic partners to ensure no life is lost due to lack of access
The Foundation delivers impact through an integrated dual-model:

The Foundation operates nationally across all ten provinces of Zimbabwe, working with communities, healthcare institutions, faith-based organisations, and strategic partners to ensure no life is lost due to lack of access
The Foundation delivers impact through an integrated dual-model:
1. Community-Based Humanitarian & Social Impact Work
Through direct engagement, we:
- Identify unmet needs in vulnerable communities
- Deliver humanitarian assistance where dignity and access are compromised
- Build trust with local leadership and institutions
- Support education, disability inclusion, and social reintegration
2. Emergency Healthcare Infrastructure & Capacity Building
- Through Discovery Ambulance Services, we:
- Deploy ICU-equipped ambulances nationwide
- Provide professional emergency medical transport and pre-hospital care
- Train citizens in lifesaving first aid and emergency response
- Strengthen referral pathways between clinics and hospitals
Mission
To save lives and restore dignity by building sustainable emergency healthcare access and empowering communities to respond effectively in moments of crisis.
Vision
A Zimbabwe where emergency care is accessible, timely, and equitable—where no life is lost because help could not be reached.
Our Values
Ubuntu
We believe humanity is shared. Every life has equal worth, regardless of geography or circumstance.
Dignity
We engage communities with respect, restoring agency rather than imposing solutions.
Access
We focus on removing barriers—distance, delay, and exclusion—that cost lives.
Accountability
We measure impact, operate transparently, and design systems that last.
Sustainability
We build infrastructure, skills, and partnerships that endure beyond short-term interventions.
How We Work
Our approach is grounded in integration, sustainability, and scale. Community engagement informs needs identification, professional systems deliver technical solutions, and partnerships ensure alignment with national priorities. This model allows the Foundation to function as *infrastructure—not intervention—*embedding impact into communities and healthcare systems alike.
We can change the world one life at a time.
